TL;DR Version:
Choose clear over clever. If you can be both, great. But clear > clever.
Most people are not clear enough. Master clarity and you’ll be 100X more effective.
Regular Version:
I have a problem with clarity.
Chances are, so do you.
More often than I’d like to admit, I veer my writing towards cleverness (or rather, an attempt at cleverness) rather than settling for being clear.
For writers, clarity isn’t very sexy. But it is far more likely to get results. Which is sexy.
The benefits of clarity are, well, clear:
More engaged readers
Higher conversion rate
More confident tone
So how do you inject more clarity in your writing so you can get results?
For starters, go follow Adam Knorr on LinkedIn and on Substack. I don’t know any writer who has mastered clarity more. Seriously.
Second, go listen to our chat from a few weeks ago:
I’m working on being more clear in my own writing. You should, too.
And if writing a book is one of your goals for 2025, then book a free 20-minute Q&A and let’s chat about it.
Until next time, keep telling your story. (Clearly, of course.)
