You Don't Need More Talent. You Need More Coaching.

Just ask Michael Phelps.

TL;DR

Time after time, I hear the same story over and over. The most successful people in the world all have this one thing in common:

They had a coach.

Whether they were elite athletes like Michael Phelps or 9-figure serial entrepreneurs—they got coaching.

Last year, I noticed a gap in publishing. So I developed a group book coaching program to fill that gap. You can learn more about it here.

Even if you don’t care for swimming, you know who Michael Phelps is. He’s officially the most decorated Olympian of all time—including the ancient Olympics. (Take that, Leonidas of Rhodes.)

But who you probably should know is a guy who will never end up on a box of Wheaties. His name is Bob Bowman.

Bob Bowman has zero World Records. His athletes have 43.

He was Michael Phelps’s longtime coach, coaching him to 23 gold medals. And he recently coached 2024 Olympic star Léon Marchand to win 4 golds.

See, I'm pretty sure Phelps was a talented swimmer before Bowman. His problem wasn’t a lack of talent. No—he just recognized that to maximize his talent, he needed coaching.

Last year, I started getting some coaching myself. I’ve done some 1:1 sessions with other writers I trust who and look up to. And then I’ve also been part of a coaching program since December that I’ll be wrapping up soon.

I’ve been a full-time book coach since 2022, but it was only about 8 months ago that I noticed a bottleneck in publishing. People who want to scale their business with a book, but either aren’t capable of plunking down 5 figures for coaching OR simply aren’t ready for that kind of financial commitment until they have more direction.

So I’ve been working on a book coaching program specifically for this group of aspiring author-preneurs. 5 weeks. 10 participants max.

To be honest, I’m a bit terrified since I’ve only ever done 1:1 coaching. But also excited to help the people who are being left out.

So if Michael Phelps needs coaching for swimming . . . you probably need one for writing a book. (Just sayin’.)
