Getting laid off helped her rewrite her story
Laura Krauss was laid off by a top SaaS company last year. Now she's using her story to create community and help others.
TL;DR Version:
A year ago, Laura Krauss was a top-performing sales leader at a major SaaS company. And then she got laid off. Over email. This week, her book came out.

Regular Version:
This year alone, the tech sector has laid off over 124,000 people. Late last year, Laura Krauss received the email she never expected: “Your role has been impacted.”
Overnight she found herself out of a job where she had been a top-performer, a leader. And the people she thought would reach out to her? Crickets.
She had caught “The Layoff Cooties.”
Her story resonated on LinkedIn and she poured her heart into her book that just came out this week, as well as establishing a community for people facing their own case of Layoff Cooties.
When I found Laura on LinkedIn, I was personally impressed with how she was using the pain of her layoff to create a supportive community. So if you haven’t listened to our chat yet on “Everything Is Storytelling,” go check it out.
And if you have experienced a layoff or know someone going through one, definitely give it a listen. And remember . . . the painful parts of your Story may become the most powerful chapter of your life.
And if writing a book is one of your goals for 2025, then book a free 20-minute Q&A and let’s chat about it.
Until next time, keep telling your story.
